We’ve seen Jordan Brand get experimental with the looks seen on classic Air Jordan silhouettes. Given the trend of sneakers receiving lifestyle makeovers, 2017 brings us the Air Jordan 2 Retro Decon – a slimmer, deconstructed version of Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. Released in a trio of colorways, each distributed in different quantities to the US’ respective coasts, we highlight the “Bordeaux” shoe. This version was exclusive to the East Coast. Like the rest of the collection, it sports a tonal look with a premium suede construction. The excess padding has been removed, making this a lightweight option that’s perfect for summer.

Fit and finish are good, these are a solid comfortable pair of well-made shoes. The quality I've come to expect from Rockport. So why only four stars? The styling, the look, still doesn't quite sit right for me. Not a hiking show, not a dress shoe, not a cool looking casual with jeans shoe. It's a strange middle ground. I somehow thought they'd look better than the pictures, that they'd be good for walking to park, but something about the look doesn't work. For me.

It's a fine pair of shoes that will no doubt last a long time. If you like the look, they will serve you well.

I've wanted these for years, and finally broke down and purchased them on Amazon. I'm so glad I got the slip-on version, as they are are so convenient to throw on when you're leaving the house, yet they look so great (as if you actually tried to put yourself together a bit....ha!) I find that I wear them over "regular" sneakers, and they're a great alternative to flip flops when you want a casual shoe but need more coverage than a sandal. I wish I'd bought them years ago!
