My husband has Alzheimers and I was trying to buy him a pair of badly needed shoes that most looked like the ones he had. Bingo! These were perfect. I had bought Propet for myself in the past and were always happy with them. He is happy too.

That's different from other folks with "regular" feet. The bones below my toes are exceptionally wide and yet I have a very narrow heel so many shoes just don't fit me well at all. If I get the toe box area wide enough to accommodate my foot, then the heel area is too wide. I usually use those sticky pads in the heel area to make it snug on my heel. Otherwise I walk out of the shoe. This pair, because they go above my ankle, bypasses the too wide of a heel section. I put on a pair of medium socks (not too thin or too thick), loosened the laces and did have a tiny bit of trouble getting my entire foot in the shoe, but once I did, I laced the shoes up medium-tight and walked around. Usually with shoes I have an initial bit of discomfort - the tops or the soles are stiff or my big toe hits an odd spot inside the shoe or whatever. Not so with these shoes! Aside from listening to a bit of interesting creaking/squeaking from the tops of the shoes when I took a step, the toe box area seemed wider than average shoes and my foot felt very comfortable in the area with no squeezing or discomfort in any way. My heels did not seem to slip around inside the shoes at all, maybe because these shoes hold the ankle fairly still. The leather seems to be of high quality - it has that good smell of quality leather and while leather itself doesn't breathe, the ventilation holes on the top of the toe box and around the ankle area seem to be able to keep the foot cool. I wanted this pair because my left ankle often tries to give way on me due to an old injury. I had a tendon tear so badly several years ago that when it tore, it make a loud crack sound that made me believe I'd broken something. It took over 12 weeks just to be able to put weight on that foot again. Tendons never completely heal so when the weather changes or I do too much walking in flip-flops, that tendon starts giving way and is very painful. These shoes that go over the ankle should help keep the tendon from giving way and/or causing me discomfort. Nice pair of shoes that I will get a great deal of use out of!

I will first say that I love the look of these shoes! The worn in look is amazing and very well designed - giving these shoes a very lived in kind of feel.

The shoes look sharp but, this is where the kudos end. The shoes are indeed leather and did take some time to get used to and actually wear in. Once I had stretched them, they were more comfortable than their initial outings but, they are extremely narrow on my feet and have a slight sole - making them not the most comfortable shoes in the world. The length, shoe sizing is spot on at a 10 but, the narrowness definitely takes away from the overall feel of them. I guess it’s true when they say that amazing fashion will have to hurt sometimes.

I would recommend on the look alone and not the feel.

My grandson wears heavy boots working on the farm, but when we go out to dinner, he wears these, because he says they’re so comfortable and lightweight on his feet. They really look good, too. Black leather sneakers - what a great idea to look spiffy and feel comfortable, too!

Previous Sketchers Sports, sole came loose. I replaced with similar, with velcro closings and memory foam. I love the velcro, but memory foam seems to reduce room for my toes. I would probably go for a half-size larger. Otherwise, I think these are good shoes. I am going to continue wearing them, expecting the feel to improve.

Bought these for my daughter and she loves them. My son was wanting them for himself. Lol. She has received numerous compliments about them. The only drawback is it rubs on the heel tendon. So she hasn't been able to wear them as often as she wants.

Still my favorite brand and series of shoe. I have tried different Brooks, but always come back to this. I did find the toe box area to be a little roomier than usual as it bunches up around the top of my foot. No issues running, have done about 25 Miles in them so far.
